For fans of Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon movie series, the wait is over. Sure you probably have already read Brown’s "Inferno", but now you get to see it on the big screen. Sony Entertainment has locked down both Tom Hanks, for Robert Langdon, and Ron Howard, to direct, Inferno. Deadline.com reported the story. Brian Grazer will producer and David Koepp will pen the script.
Synopsis: “In Inferno, Langdon awakens in an Italian hospital with amnesia. He teams up with Sienna Brooks, the doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante’s Inferno”.
If you are a fan of the Robert Langdon book series, you probably already know the obvious fact. Yes, they are skipping over the third book The Lost Symbol.
Filming begins this April.
Inferno is scheduled to arrive December 18th, 2015.
WAIT... what? Sony Pictures and Imagine Entertainment are releasing the picture on the same day as Disney’s Star Wars: Episode VII. Now I can appreciate counter programming, but are they crazy? However, if I was to throw anything at Star Wars, even to make the slightest attempt at counter programming, I would put Tom Hanks in it and have one hell of director at the helm. At least Sony got that those two things right. Expect the release date to move up or move back for Inferno.
