With post-production on their upcoming science fiction thriller THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW in full swing, director Roland Emmerich (INDEPENDENCE DAY) and producer Mark Gordon (SAVING PRIVATE RYAN) are collaborating again on a historical adventure/romance picture about the life of young Egyptian King Tutankhamen. Titled simply TUT, the Columbia Pictures project is being written by scribes Sean O'Keefe and Will Staples and will focus on Tutankhamen's attempts to reclaim the royal throne after the death of his father.
Emmerich and Gordon's THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, in which the world's weather runs wild, arrives in theaters next May.
