According to Production Weekly, Tony Kaye (American History X) is in negotiations to direct the upcoming action thriller, Black Water Transit. Kaye will take over for Samuel Bayer, who was previously hired to direct the film.
Black Water Transit will star Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson as it follows the divergent agendas of crooks, cops and lawyers as they clash over a shipment of illegal firearms, mafia ties and a double homicide.
Due to the directorial change, production has been pushed back until early April.
KJ's Take: American History X is an extraordinary film. One of a kind, just flat out a must see. That Kaye is boarding this project shines a ray of hope onto it that was previously obscured by clouds. I am naturally sceptical about all Samuel L. Jackson films, but I'll also be the first to tell you that when the man makes a good film, he makes a damn good film. This just got added to my list of most anticipated films.
