Paramount Pictures and MTV films have selected director Tony Scott to lead their remake of the 1979 classic THE WARRIORS, an urban kid gang epic based closely on Homer's ODYSSEY. Extremely controversial upon release, initial screenings were accompanied by reports of violence which created huge publicity for the movie.

John Glenn and Travis Wright are scripting. Their remake will "mesh styles of Hong Kong martial arts pix and contemporary action features", VARIETY reports. Scott is quoted about the original: " one of my all-time favorite films. "
