The summer's biggest movie stars, Batman and Iron Man launch new animated shows this fall. Here's a roundup of recent news bits about the shows:

BRAVE AND THE BOLD's Michael Jelenic

Newsarama chats with Michael Jelenic, series editor and producer of 'Batman: The Brave and the Bold' who talks about creating athe fun new take on everyone's favorite Dark Knight Detective. Here's an excerpt:

NRAMA: Batman is still the Dark Knight, the World’s Greatest Detective, right?

MJ: He’s Batman. Everything you know about Batman is still true. He’s not going to be a loner so much, but all the other things that make him Batman are still there.

NRAMA: But the essence of the comic book was team ups.

MJ: What we also thought is let’s take him out of Gotham. Team him up with different people. That’s what a lot of the last two seasons of The Batman were about. Now if we just wanted to do team ups, we probably would be doing the same stories.

I did some searching and found that they have Batman listed, in several sites, to show on Nov. 14th at 7:30 on a Friday. Iron Man will be on Nickelodeon in early 2009.

I'm looking forward to the Iron Man series but the Batman series . . . . . I'll have to wait and see. So far it sounds kind of like Superfriends, which wasn't that bad- when I was 10.

I kind of think Batman: Brave and the Bold will be like the way the last WB Batman cartoon was, with other DC characters guest starring with Batman.

Superfiends from the 1970's is in a class all by it's self. I tried watching it on the Boomerang (sp) channel and I only lasted 5 minutes before I had to turn it off, some things need to be left in our childhoods.

If anyone still reads comic books and likes the superfriends go check out Teen Titans #62. They had Wendy and Marvin along with Wonderdog from Superfriends and trust me, the ending is far different that what you would see on the old cartoon show.

Looking forward to both. Batman's review this past week sounded pretty good and the clip looked just as good. Family friendly yes but far from the goofyness of Superfriends IMO.

Why do the Canucks get first shot at these shows
