TOP 10: Getting another cut at the BARBERSHOP

Ice Cube and his pals at the corner barbershop grabbed the top spot at the box office this past weekend, with MGM's BARBERSHOP 2: BACK IN BUSINESS cutting itself a healthy chunk of $25 million dollars. That's an impressive opening weekend for this sequel.

Second place went to Disney's tale of Olympic gold, the story of the American Mens' hockey team winning at the 1980 Winter Olympics. MIRACLE took the second position with a not-too-shabby $19.4 M and the promise of strong earnings next weekend.

Last weekend's top earner, YOU GOT SERVED, dropped down to third overall while THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT continues to float downward. THE RETURN OF THE KING is still there in the top ten and has now made over $350 M at the domestic box office. MONSTER, the picture that's generating Oscar buzz for Charlize Theron, moved up three positions to eighth overall.

Next week we'll see how Adam Sandler's new romantic comedy 50 FIRST DATES fares as well Jim Caviezel's search for revenge in HIGHWAYMEN.
