TOP 10: Jack's back

Columbia Pictures captured the top spot at the box office this past weekend with the Jack Nicholson/Diane Keaton romantic comedy SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE. The film netted $17 million over the weekend, not a bad showing but still not enough to crack the coveted $20 M barrier. Last weekend's champ, THE LAST SAMURAI, fell to second place, dropping about 45% down from the picture's grosses seven days ago.
The Farrelly brothers new comedy STUCK ON YOU only took in $10 M and the week's other new major release, LOVE DON'T COST A THING, was in fourth position with $6.5 M. The weaker box office was likely due to the Christmas shopping season and will undoubtedly pick up once more people have free time again.
Here's the estimated box office receipts of the top ten films from December 12 through to December 14, with their weekend gross and the film's total domestic gross to date:
1. SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE $17,000,000 $17,000,000
2. THE LAST SAMURAI $14,050,000 $46,837,000
