TOP 10: More DATES for the box office

50 FIRST DATES kept its hold on the number one spot at the box office this weekend, earning another $21 million dollars for Sony Pictures. That's a drop of 47% from last week's $40 M opening and cause for celebration for Adam Sandler's agent and representatives. Looks like he'll be making lots more movies in the years to come and not THE WATERBOY 2.

Disney's teen offering, CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE DRAMA QUEEN faired much better than DreamWorks' more raunchy ROADTRIP. CONFESSIONS earned $9.2 M playing on just under a dozen fewer screens than ROADTRIP which made $6.6 M and came in fifth position.

WELCOME TO MOOSEPORT, Ray Romano's new comedy, debuted in fourth spot with $7 M in earnings while the weekend's other new opening, AGAINST THE ROPES, rang in at eighth spot.

After a commanding run, New Line's THE RETURN OF THE KING has finally slouched down to the tenth rung. The final film has now earned $361 M domestically and stands at $979 M internationally, nearly at the coveted billion dollar accumulation mark.

Here are the estimated box office receipts of the top ten films from February 20 through to February 22, with their weekend gross and the movie's total domestic gross to date:
