TOP 12: Thanksgiving audiences go back for more TREASURE
By: Patrick SauriolDate: Sunday, November 28, 2004
Over the five-day Thanksgiving weekend NATIONAL TREASURE took in nearly $50 million dollars, holding on to top position in the box office standings. In hindsight, the Thansksgiving holiday turned out to be a pretty good experience for nearly all the films in the top 12.
Coming in second spot was THE INCREDIBLES, earning another $33 million and cracking the coveted $200 M total barrier in just one month. Third spot went to Sony's holiday themed comedy CHRISTMAS WITH THE KRANKS which took in a very nice $32 M. THE POLAR EXPRESS held on to its fourth place spot by adding $27 M more bucks to its count while the SPONGEBOB movie fell to fifth but still made $23 M. The week's other new film, Oliver Stone's ALEXANDER, may have been beaten by that aquatic yellow sponge in the grosses but hey, no one's perfect.
Here are the estimated box office receipts of the top twelve films from November 26 through to November 28 with their weekend gross and the movie's total domestic gross to date. As always, the week's new films are signified in red.
