I was never familiar with B'wana Beast and had a wtf moment when he showed up on Justice League recruited by Batman to use his jungle tracking abilities to find Wonder Woman after Circe had turned her into a pig. After reading up on his origin it just makes this episode seem even stranger haha.

Bouncing Boys origin is a little silly, but not the dumbest.  Absent-minded professor forgets to secure his work and chubby slacker assistant accidentally drinks it, it's plausible.  Certainly has been used quite a bit both before and after.

Now, what about favorite Origins?

The Origin that sticks out in my mind would have to be The Creeper's origin from Batman The Animated series. It was great and funny as all hell. Probably my favorite episode from the Batman revamp episodes. I found alot of the origin storys from The Animated Series to be better than the comic origins. Two Face is better than in The Dark Knight even. Lets not forget about the great Mr. Freeze origin from The Animated Series either.

Oh yeah, Whizzers origin got retconned in the 70s.  The snake-bite and his fathers well-intentioned but eronious use of mongoose blood triggered his latent mutant powers.  I shall make no comment on the name or the suit.

B'Wana Beast was on an episode of the New Batman Series on Cartoon Network.

Ok, someone at the top of the comments challenged for a decent explanation for some of this stuff. I don't have much, but here's one....

Knightstalker asked:

"How exactly does a super fast heartbeat help Bee-Man?"

This one is way too easy. Superfast heartbeat, superfast metabolism, etc, like the Flash. He gets poisoned? It's out of his system quickly. He gets shot (this one's a stretch), he heals faster.

Now, what I really want to know is when do we get a "5 reasons why Mania keeps posting lists of nonsensical stuff".

Bouncing Boy is such an easy target.  But all the Legionaires who didn't get their powers by virtue of them being natural to their species (ie, Saturn Girl is a telepath from a race of telepaths) have wierd origins.  For instance, Ultra Boy got his powers because he was swallowed by a space whale.  His real name is Jo Nah.  Jonah and the Whale, get it?  ha ha ha.

Lightning Lad  (and Lightning Lass and Lightning Lord) crashed on an unhabited planet and were attacked by Lightning Beasts.

But this was back in the '60s and comics were a bit less sophisticated then.

Apparently none of you have heard of Zsazsa Zaturnnah! Originally he was just your ordinary gay hairdresser but a strange pink stone fell from the sky! HE decides for some reason to eat the stone! THis somehow then gives the guy the power to transform into a superpowered big breasted amazon woman whenever he says "Zaturnnah!" WTF was invented just for this character!
