Thomas Jane Still Up for the Jonah Hex Role?
Rumor: There can be no doubts that former “Punisher” Thomas Jane is very passionate about the upcoming Jonah Hex comic adaptation. Enough so that the actor went to a studio and had a make-up rehearsal for the character without the producers’ knowledge. So, does the passion translate into the actor leading a new comic character to the big screen? Not according to directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.

Mania Verdict: FALSE---Despite Jane’s desire to play the role, the directors confirmed that Jane isn’t in consideration.
"We had never brought his name up, he's great, we like him ... We don't see the guy as Jonah Hex, to be quite honest with you. But we like him. We're totally stoked that he would do that, it's so awesome."
Russell Crowe Is Dr. Watson to Robert Downey Jr.’s Sherlock Holmes?
Rumor: We’d be remiss not to pass this particular wild rumor from earlier in this week to you weekend viewers. Coming out of the tabloids, a rumor popped up that a “source” close to Russell Crowe indicated the actor wanting to play sidekick to Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming Sherlock Holmes.

Mania Verdict: FALSE---No verdict needed. The director himself quickly told Empire Online that there was no truth to this rumor within hours of it appearing online.
Heavy Metal Still Coming to Theaters?
Source: The Playlist
Mania Verdict: TRUE---Sony Pictures, the studio who released the original 1981 version, has grabbed the rights and it seems that Paramount Pictures dropped it for entirely different reasons. Here’s what executive producer Kevin Eastman had to reveal on the subject.
"We developed it for Paramount in January... And it was time for them to make a decision [about going forward with the project] and they were at odds with Fincher over another project, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, [because] they wanted him to reduce the running time and so they said, Until you step up to do what we want you to do with Benjamin, we're not going to greenlight any other of [your] movies. And David said, Fine, f**k you, I'm going to set up [Heavy Metal] somewhere else,' so we jumped over to Sony and set it up there."
Perlman Indicates a Third Hellboy is Coming?
Source: Moviehole
Mania Verdict: MAYBE---Bypassing the fact that the Perlman quote seems to be right after the second film hit theaters, the question that a lot of us have on any Hellboy sequel discussion is when director Guillermo del Toro will find the time to jump back into the franchise. As reported this week, Del Toro is locked into multiple projects through the year 2017, none of which include a third Hellboy.
Max Makowski Leading Adaptation of Voltron?
Source: Latino Review
Mania Verdict: TRUE---Variety has confirmed the director be locked in for the Relativity Media production. Max is also bringing about a big screen adaptation of Kung Fu, based on the old television series and has a writing credit on the upcoming revision of Hawaii-Five O.

I'm scared Sherlock Homes with be RDJ's K-Pax.
Growing up, I used to think Voltron and Hawaii-Five-O were very similar, and that they probably shared the same writers.
