Top Ten Genre Broadcast TV Ratings (December 10-16)

THE SIMPSONS has returned to the top spot in genre programming ratings for the week of Dec. 10-16. The program was 30th in overall ratings.

Coming up in the second slot was ABC's ALIAS, because, once again, CBS pulled their THE AGENCY off of the week's schedule.

Meanwhile, THE X-FILES looks to have shaken off its season opening low numbers and grabbed the third slot with improved numbers from its previous week. If it keeps doing this well, it won't be surprising if Fox renews it for a tenth season.

Down in the pack, SMALLVILLE's latest episode was new, which served to land the program the sixth spot for the week, followed by Fox's DARK ANGEL and UPN's ENTERPRISE repeat.

The bottom of the top ten this week ended up with a three-way tie between The WB's ANGEL, Fox's THE TICK and the Friday night repeat of 24.

In the overall ratings picture, ER moved back up to the top of the list regaining number 1. In the process, that episode went head-to-head with a special broadcast of CBS' CSI. That episode landed in the 10th slot.
