Even though the season's start of CBS' THE AGENCY has been troubled by recent real world incidents as well as having missed one week, the program finally edged ABC's ALIAS out of it genre top spot for the first time.
The episode shown on Thursday, Oct. 25, had 10.3 million viewers compared to Sunday night's ALIAS showing of 10M.
Meanwhile, UPN's ENTERPRISE would have grabbed back its usual 3rd slot if not for a showing of TOY STORY on ABC. SMALLVILLE, which stole that slot from the series last week, fell behind ENTERPRISE landing the fifth slot, though the WB series was also up against a repeat of DARK ANGEL as well as UPN's ROSWELL. ROSWELL, though, did not make the top ten list.
Ironically, CBS' WOLF LAKE beat out BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, CHARMED and ANGEL and was still placed on hiatus by the network.
In the overall ratings picture for the week, NBC's ER held on to its #1 spot, followed by FRIENDS.
In showing the week's genre top ten, we also include, in parenthesis, additional necessary info. The first stand alone figure in parenthesis is that program's ranking in overall programming. Then, after the title of the program, the second group of numbers means as follows: (Viewers in millions/Rating/Share)
