Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for ABC

Hulk Footage!

By Robert T. Trate     May 09, 2013

IGN has officially confirmed that ABC has picked up Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This seems like seems logical choice since The Avengers made a billion dollars and Disney owns both Marvel and ABC. Regardless, the Joss Whedon written and directed pilot should make its way to television this fall.

The other big news is that “footage” has leaked from the pilot (below). The footage contains what appears to be a Hulk like creature. Is it the Hulk? Is it Abomination? The debate is on and it’s starting to become the modern “Patterson- Gimlin Bigfoot Footage”.

Synopsis: Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) returns to the worldwide law enforcement organization S.H.I.E.L.D. He puts together a small, highly trained, team of Agents to tackle the cases that haven’t been classified yet, the new, the strange and the unknown. That team consists of straight arrow Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), an expert in combat and espionage; pilot and martial artist Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen); and brilliant if socially awkward scientists Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). They’ll be joined by civilian new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). Prepare for an epic adventure that showcases the hope and wonder of the human spirit. This is a world of Super Heroes, aliens and the unusual – of action, spectacle and world spanning stories. The show will speak to the human condition through the lens of our very human, non-powered S.H.I.E.L.D agents – that together we are greater than we are apart, and that we can make a difference in the world.

The series will star lark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet and J. August Richards.

Good article. I'm really looking forward to this show and hoping it's not a one-season fling. The good news for this show is that it's NOT on FOX! I'm curious what cameos we will get from certain heroes...super or otherwise. With all the crap-talk over money right now, I doubt it will be any of our beloved Avengers from the movie. Perhaps now that Daredevil is back with Marvel, we can get a Matt Murdock cameo or even a Jennifer Walters if we're talking about a court scene. Heck, I would be fine with a Punisher, Moon Knight or Ghost Rider cameo.

Oh and nice job on blocking our fun, Disney!!!

Agreed...I can't wait!  A show like this is a perfect opportunity to introduce characters that may not be strong and/or popular enough for their own movies...although what I would LOVE to see happen is this - during the run of this show, they introduce characters like Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Shang Chi, etc., and then do a "Marvel Knights" movie...that would fucking awesome, in my opinion.

Yeah that would be awesome SC but from what I've read that doesn't seem to be the primary theme. It's going to be about Coulson and the agents and not so much about the capes

Either way I'm watching

And yeah that was definitely the Abomination and not the Hulk. Saw the snippet last night and you can see it was pulled straight from the film which is very cool

Missed it. The video's been removed.

Still like everybody else I will be watching.

It was just a few seconds from TIH film when the Abomination is wrecking the streets of Harlem

shh still has it up but it's nothing you haven't seen

I understand that what I would like to see is not the main theme of the show, Wise...just saying, the main theme of Star Trek was supposed to be exploration, but they managed to have more than a few fist fights and alien

MrCharles 5/10/2013 11:34:33 AM

What's the timeline for Agents of SHIELD?  Is it pre-Avengers when Coulson was still alive, or post-Avengers when Coulson has been brought back to life or saved from the brink of death?

SarcasticCaveman 5/10/2013 11:50:46 AM

MrCharles - it's set after The Avengers...plenty of theories going around about how Coulson is in it.  My favorite is that the Coulson killed in the movie was a Life Model Decoy.  Tony briefly mentioned them jokingly, last we saw the trading card it was in Coulson's locker rather than on his person (so how would it have his blood on it?), and the guy works for S.H.I.E.L.D.  Intelligence and espionage.  I love it.

 They pulled again!
