It what seems to be the new trend (thank you very much Fox and Prometheus) the teaser for the trailer of the new Total Recall has hit the web. This coming Sunday, April 1st, Sony Pictures will unleash the full trailer for their remake of the Paul Verhoeven 1990 film. The original film was based on the short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" by Phillip K. Dick and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. This new film features Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bill Nighy, Ethan Hawke, and Colin Farrell as Quaid/ Hauser.

The film is directed by Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard).

Total Recall (2012) arrives in theaters August 12th.

Check back on Sunday for Sony’s full trailer here on Mania.

Interesting...I guess. I really didn't need a remake of this. Arnies is still a fun watch. Funny Enough I Would much rather see a remake of Jurassic Park in were they actually make the novel and not some Spielberg friendly shlock(though I do actually enjoy the first one). Remaking Total Recall just seems soo unnecisary.

We're officially looking at a teaser to a teaser for a remake of an adaptation. The snake is running out of tail to eat!

It seems like every movie's hook is someone falling/jumping.... very intensely .......

They don't go to Mars in this, I believe. Which would suck

I hope it's closer to the book

They didn't go to Mars in the original story.

I'm not too sure about this, but being a Phiip K. Dick fan, I'll probably see it. I do like that they seem to have been inspired in part by the art direction from Blade Runner.

Boy do I hate this new "concept" of teasing new teaser trailers.  A trailer for a trailer is a really idiotic idea, especially when there's no real end to the idea.  Why not a trailer for a trailer for a trailer for a trailer?  Or is that too extreme?  What's so hard about simply advertising that the trailer debuts during the Lakers game Sunday and leave it at that?

MrJawbreakingEquilibrium 3/27/2012 1:17:13 PM

I don't really see the problem with it. It's pointless but - oh, well. It's not that big of  a deal.
