Toy Fair Revisited - Playmates

Next up in CINESCAPE's ongoing coverage of this month's American International Toy Fair in New York City is a visit to the Playmates Toys showroom. While Playmates is well established as a provider of various girls and boys toys, it wasuntil recentlytheir now-defunct line of STAR TREK action figures which genre fans best knew the company for. And while that extensive line is now long gone, Playmates has, for the past couple of seasons, provided us with one of the most popular series of action figures in years: THE SIMPSONS.

Of course, it's the world of Bart and Homer that caught our eye while touring the Playmates displays, though other noteworthy lines from the company include new Disney products such as Magic Talk Princessesfeaturing Ariel, Snow White and others. There's also a line based on the animated Kids' WB! series JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES. All in all, pretty good stuff.
