Toy Maniac: SDCC 2012 Exclusives Update

Update #2

By Robert T. Trate     June 08, 2012

The San Diego Comic is only 33 days away and the hype for Nerdvana is mounting. The Toy Maniac is gathering up all his nerd gear in preparation for the big event. His main advantage this year is that he is driving to the SDCC. The worry of shipping and traveling the over sized items is not a concern. So without further eloquence, let’s get on with the most recent list of SDCC Exclusives.
Sideshow Collectibles
Every year Sideshow Collectibles has pre-sales for their Comic Con Exclusives. This year they have been teasing us with what they will be. I’ve missed a few of the Star Wars ones in the past. This year I am getting that Snowtrooper. Check out their official SDCC 2012 page here. If you miss the pre-sales or they sell out, check in with the Sideshow booth as they do sell items that aren’t not picked up.
The other one I am really looking forward to is this premium format figure of Hawkeye (check out the production video here).
We saw a few items from Hasbro in the Toy Maniac SDCC 2012 update (check it out here). Hasbro announced this week that the Masters of Evil will be featured in a SDCC Box Set. “Fueled by a raging need for vengeance against Captain America, Baron Zemo hatches a masterful plan. Not foolish enough to face the Avengers alone, he strategically forms one of the most powerful groups of villains ever assembled. The Masters of Evil 3-Pack includes Baron Zemo, Radioactive Man and Tiger Shark all appearing in 3.75” scale, and united for a singular purpose: destroying Earth's Mightiest Heroes” (Price $29.99; Available through, Booth #3329). I doubt we have seen the last of Hasbro’s SDCC 2012 exclusives.
Diamond Select
“It's almost that time of year again... the time of year when Diamond Select Toys hops on a plane across the country to attend the biggest pop-culture convention in America! San Diego's Comic-Con International 2012 will run from July 12-15, and DST will have a ton of fun events for you to attend, including a Minimates panel, a Battle Beasts signing, our Build-a-Minimate station and some cool, cool giveaways. But this year will also be a huge year for DST's exclusive toys! In partnership with Diamond Comics Distributors and the Previews catalog, DST will have the following exclusive items available for sale at their booth this year, and there's something for everyone!

AVX: Avengers Vs. X-Men Marvel Minimates Box Set

Hawkeye has a lot of detail, it looks very cool. Spider-man is awesome but it would have been super awesome if they would of made the entire body.
