Having troubles with a business partner? Can't get them to make the movies you want? Well simply buy them out!

In a conference call to report second quarter and six month results, Chief Executive Robert Iger also let it slip that Toy Story 3 had started production ... at Pixar studios.

While production has been started, no release date has been set for the third installment.

Pixar had previously passed on production of Toy Story 3, and it was being developed by Disney's own in-house animators. Disney then acquired Pixar and it seems they have passed production back to the studio which produced the first two installments.

Don't be surprised to see sequels to other Pixar films as well. On the bright side, I really wanted to see The Incredibles 2 and maybe now I will.

I loved the first two Toy Story movies and wouldn't mind seeing a new one. An Incredibles 2 would be great; pit the family against a family of villains who lives across the street. They battle each other while trying to maintain their secret identities.

I would like to see Syndrome return. But have him come back with powers of his own, that he got by extracting the DNA of the heros he killed and or captured.

wessmith... maybe they could battle the X's, Nickelodeon's blatant rip off of the Incredibles.

dragon261... I would like to see see Syndrome too but...

***SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE***

...I want to say that he got killed in the movie. Remember... his cape got sucked into the engine of his jet. The reason I say "I want to say" is because of course they don't actually show a dead body or anything and as we all know in Hollywood, a dead body is 'proof in the pudding' that the person is ACTUALLY dead unless of course it's a Jason, Freddy or any other horror character.

Anyways, Syndrome could have been the Incredibles Lex Luthor.

I think it's funny that Disney's In-House animators couldn't handle Pixar's work. That's funny as hell. Anyway. I would like to see TS3 since both 1&2 were really good.

Also, ditto to wanting to see The Incredibles 2 get made.

jwesty - considering The Incredibles itself was a blatant ripoff of the Fantastic Four, it's hard to fault Nickelodeon too much.

heaven forbid disney come up with an orginal idea...let's keep churning out those god-awful direct to dvd sequels...disney's day in the sun set with THE LION KING

raybrn... i can see that, sort of. although the comparisons to The X's are more apparent then with the FF.

kyllswich... i have to disagree with you. now that Lassiter and Job are in charge of Disney's animation, it will be interesting to see what happens.

i will agree with you on the direct-to-dvd sequel movies though... sometimes Disney cops out of a full length story by doing 3 or 4 different stories (a la Cinderalla 2, Kronk's new groove and many others). they don't even bother to make one long story. it's pathetic and a short-cut to cash in on a brand.

originally Toy Story 2 was supposed to be a direct-to-dvd movie but someone decided that it was good enough for theaters so they really polished up the animation and released it in theaters. i have a feeling that Toy Story 3 will be in theaters too. the franchise has made too much money to go directly to dvd.
