Toyaholics Unanimous #15: Puppet Master Deluxe Collection Action Figures, Series One
By: Dan CzirakyDate: Sunday, November 05, 2000
Full Moon Toys has repackaged their earlier Puppet Master figures into an all-new line for 2000. Each stands 6-7 inches tall and come with character-specific accessories. A couple have special action features, too. Even if you're not a fan of Full Moon Pictures' Puppet Master videos, these are very cool-looking, evil lil' critters to adorn your place. There are six wicked puppets in this first wave.
*Blade: This little guy has become almost as much of a horror movie icon as Jason, Freddy, and Michael Myers. I knew the little black-trenchcoated fiend had 'arrived' when I saw a Halloween mask of him in Spencer Gifts this year! 'Blade' has seven points of articulation, rooted hair, two cloth coats (regular and 'bloodied'), and three interchangable weapon-hands: knife, hook, and hatchet.
*Jester: The 'leader' of Toulon's puppets, he has ten points of articulation, removable cloth cap, and a cloth tunic. His head is split into three horizontal sections, and his spring-loaded neck allows you to duplicate his face-changing, spinning action from the films. 'Jester' also comes with his 'scepter scythe' weapon.
*Pinhead: No, not Doug Bradley's demon from the Hellraiser franchise, but the tiny-skulled bruiser puppet that likes to strangle or pummel his victims. 'Pinhead' has ten points of articulation, a real knitted sweater, and a weight set to display his awesome strength. His knee joints are a little awkward-looking; cloth pants could have been a good cover-up for that minor flaw.
*Six Shooter: Not one of the original puppets, this six-armed desperado was introduced in Puppet Master 3, if memory serves me. He packs a pistol in each hand, has a cloth bandana and removable hat, and nine points of articulation. Comes with his own 'Wanted!' poster, too!
*Torch: Another Puppet Master 3 late-comer, 'Torch' has five points of articulation and a real cloth, belted coat. He has a translucent flame attachment for his right arm, and his eyes and the flame light up once the button on his back is pressed (batteries are included and are replacable).
Tunneler: The puppet responsible for some of the most spectacularly gruesome deaths in the Puppet Master series. 'Tunneler' has six points of articulation, including the rotating drill on top of his head (controlled by a wheel on his back). He also comes with machine gun, pickaxe, treasure map, and bloody rag accessories.
Each Puppet Master figure comes with a mini-poster and a trading card of either 'Blade II,' 'Jester II,' 'Pinhead II,' or 'Six Shooter II' from the upcoming Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys video. Previously released figures of 'Leach Woman' and 'Totem' will probably be repackaged for Series Two. Twelve-inch figures of 'Blade' and 'Decapitron' have also been recently released.
