TOYS Tops at Box Office
Date: Monday, December 06, 1999With no big newcomers in theatres, the Top Ten films remained relatively unchanged, although there was the usual post-holiday drop at the box office, with many films experience decays in excess of 50%.
TOY STORY remained the #1 film with $28.3-million, down 51% from its debut weekend.
THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH took second place with $10.6 million, a 54% dorp from its sophomore showing.
In third was END OF DAYS, which dropped 53% to $9.7-million
Riding into fourth was SLEEPY HOLLOW, with an even $9-million, down 51%.
The remaining films lagged considerably behind. THE BONE COLLECTOR was #5, with $3.1-million, droppng 44%.
POKEMON took in $2.2-million for sixth place. The film's 69% drop is probably attributable to the presence of TOY STORY in the marketplace.
In 7th place was DOGMA with $2.1-million, a 37% drop.
Eighth place went to a non-genre film, but BEING JOHN MALKOVICH crept up a slot from the previous weekend, landing in 9th place with $1.4, which was 32% below its previous weekend's take.
