Trailer for New World of Warcraft Expansion

By: Jarrod Sarafin
Date: Friday, August 22, 2008
Source: Blizzard

We know that Warner Bros., Legendary Pictures and Blizzard Entertainment are developing a movie, based on the World of Warcraft franchise. If this new trailer for Blizzard's second expansion World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King is any indication of possible adaptations, fans can expect to see some stunning visuals. I'll place the trailer below for your viewing pleasure fellow Maniacs. You can also check out the High Def version here.

The upcoming theatrical version will not be based on this expansion, instead opting for live-action with some mixture of CGI environments and the story is set a year before the events of World of Warcraft, told from the Alliance perspective. Still, here's the trailer for the upcoming second expansion, which is set to debut this fall.

Why bother with live action when they can do such amazing things with CGI? I can't wait for both the expansion and the movie. I have 100% faith in Blizzard.

acappellaman...I agree...There animation work is totally off the fucking hook and has been since they released WOW...Don't get me wrong, I would like to see a live action but they can do no wrong if they went full out CGI and they have proven it, so ya, I vote full on CGI also...

I would def like to see a full movie of this shizzle. I mean make it with sensible budget on what you could make, maybe 30 mil at box office with whatever happens with DVD/BLURAY, and they could have a decent franchise.

I can't wait for all thier up and coiming releases. I hope they keep the movie in a no stop battle mode, and try to tell to much story. Lets see how the new expansion is, it will probably favor the Horde. "DAM DIRTY ORCS!!!!"
