Trailer for "Next" now online

By: Karl Schneider
Date: Friday, February 23, 2007
Source: Apple

The trailer for the upcoming Paramount Pictures film, Next, starring Nicolas Cage, Julianne Moore, and Jessica Biel can now be found online via Apple.

You can view the trailer here.

The film, based on the Philip K. Dick story The Golden Man, sees Nicolas Cage play a man with the unique ability to see future events and affect their outcome.  Relentlessly pursued by the FBI, which is seeking to use his abilities to prevent a global terrorist threat, he is ultimately faced with the daunting choice of saving the world or the woman he loves.

The film hits theaters on April 27, 2007.

KJ's Take:  Um ... If I was dating Jessica Biel, you can be damn sure I'm saving her first.  World be damned.

The movie actually looks pretty sweet, despite Cage, who seems to have really lost his touch for selecting quality films.  How do you let your career degenerate to the point where your beating on various women while running around in a bear suit ... honestly.

dude, nick cage is awesome, even when he chooses horrible movies to start in, its always interesting to see him ham it up... im telling you, ten years from now, he will be praised as much as christopher walken is today

I like Cage. Loved him in The Rock, National Treasure was a great film, and he has a ton of above average action flicks to his name. He's just had some bad luck the past few films.

His upcoming films look good though ... Grindhouse, Next, Amarillo Slim, Time Share etc

con air is a fun popcorn movie, and face/off is so underrated.. and i think i am the only one who loves lord of war, and the weather man and matchstick men were also under aprreciated, have not seen ghost rider though

I liked Matchstick men, Weather Man ... not so much.

I`m going to have go a little crazy here and agree with darthcaifan. I`ve enjoyed every movie mentioned. Lord Of War, while not a big b.o. hit was quality and Matchstick Men was really good. He was also good in WTC.

And yeah, the world could go to Hell in a handbasket if I had to choose between Biel and it. Although, I don`t knoe if I can believe that Biel would be going out with Cage. He`s old enough to be her father. Well, almost.

Not a big Cage fan, but I have to agree, those are some quality flicks... coulda done without the Wicker Man though.... man, I sometimes wonder if half way through production on Shite like that if they look at eachother and realize that they are up the creek....

You know Mad, i`ve always wondered that myself. I mean when they`re half way done a realize this is going to be a shitefest of a movie, do they just fool themselves into thinking its going to rock or are they just numbed by the money they made for doing it? How could anyone in their right mind walk on the set of a say , UWE BOLL flick, and think " Man, this is going to be awesome!"

Okay, I know it is cool now to hate on Cage, but seriously, the guy has an excellent track record. Sure, Wicker Man was a terrible film, but EVERY major star has some of those under their belt. Connery, one of my faves, has just as many failures as he does successes. I personally thought Matchstick Men, Man of War and Weather Man were all worthy efforts.

After viewing this preview, this movie looks like it will be a serious ride! The premise and the way they are putting it together in the film looks promising of something original and unique...

Cage is smart. He's no spring chicken and like all leading men the older he gets the less market there's going to be for him in leading roll parts. We're seeing him do a push to make some serious dough before the cash cow starts to produce less milk.
