What They Say
A fateful day approaches when Train_man decides to confess his love to the girl of his dreams! With the help of his online forum, he's reinvented himself and built up his confidence, but could a girl like her really be interested in a guy like him? The entire online community anxiously awaits her answer.

The Review
May 8 -- the day Train_Man will confess his love to Hermess -- is fast approaching. Train_Man can't wait and has even divested himself of almost all of his otaku goods in anticipation of a future with Hermess. However, as the day looms closer, Train_Man gets cold feet, wondering if the differences between him and Hermess are too great. But before he can wimp out, the online forum comes to the rescue! Not only does the faithful community get Train_Man's confidence back on track, they're cheering him out the door as he leaves to meet Hermess on May 8. And they're also there to await his report when he finally returns home at 4:41 a.m.!

Although the story does drag a bit when Train_Man falls into his "I-can't-compare-with-Hermess" slump, Hara does an excellent job of conveying Train_Man's long-awaited confession, combining Train_Man's experience with the forum's reactions. His "happily ever after" follow-up is pretty good as well, giving a glimpse of Hermess' point of view on their courtship.

Overall, Viz's production of this manga, from translation to materials, was very solid. However, I do wish Viz had expanded upon their explanation of Japanese emoticons. There's a lot of them (understandably so) in this manga where an Internet forum takes up such a large role, but the FAQs for all three volumes of this manga only define the same three emoticons.

Extras consist of a two page "story thus far," table of contents, and a page of Train_Man FAQs (the same FAQs as in Volume 1). This title is rated "teen" for Train_Man ogling Hermess a bit on their date.
