TRANFORMERS Revealed!

Plus: WOLVERINE, RED and SCOTT PILGRIM

By Rob M. Worley     April 03, 2009
Source: Various

'Transformers' roster revealed! Plus: Hugh Jackman wants to premiere 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' in your home town! More 'Scott Pilgrim' set photos. 'Red' dawning at Summit? 'Men in Black' returning? The daily column that's only happy when it rains, it's your Comics2Film 9.4.3!

M.I.B.III In The Works?

In case you missed it, Mania posted a report yesterday that suggests a third 'Men in Black' movie may be in the works.

The announcement was made by Sony President of Worldwide Distribution Rory Bruer at the recent ShoWest event. No other details were given.

The original 'Men In Black' stood for years as the most successful adaptation of a comic book in history. The record stood until 'Spider-Man' came along and toppled it, ushering in the Marvel age of comic book movies. The film spawned a lackluster sequel, but the concept is solid enough that we can't really fault the studio for going back and giving the franchise another shot.

RED Dawning at Summit?

Comics2Film at Mania.com has heard that Jon and Erich Hoeber's script based on the DC/Wildstorm comic 'Red' is creating plenty of buzz at Summit Entertainment.

The comic, written by Warren Ellis and illustrated by Cully Hamner, deals with a former black-ops CIA agent in quiet retirement...that is until a high-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. The agent must now reassemble his team in order to save his loved ones.

Summit snatched up the film rights last summer and word is that the Hoeber brothers' script is "phenomenal." Look for this one to heat up soon.

Wright posting SCOTT PILGRIM pictures right

From the set of SCOTT PILGRIM

It appears that 'Scott Pilgrim vs The World' director Edgar Wright has abandoned the craptacular MySpace as his platform for looping fans into the production. All week, the latest set photos from the film have appeared on the far-more-pleasant EdgarWrightHere.com (which uses Flickr for its photo hosting).

Anyhow, look for several new images that were posted March 30th, March 31st, April 1st and April 2nd.

Thanks to Antonello Blueberry for the submission.

Decepticons have a pretty stacked team.

Man, what this comment thread needs is someone to make a bad play on Shia LeBouf's name, call him Malaysian or a tranny or both, and then turn PIG into a prefix that they stick on the beginning of every third word in their post.

Also, if that individual could call everyone who disagrees with him/her a Bush/Rove neo-con, that would be swell.

Is their anyone around brave and witty enough to take care of that for us?

Holy crap the decepticons ARE stacked!!!  I thought wheelie was an autobot?  Very excited to see sideswipe and Jetfire!!! Sideswipe is probably the corvette.. right?  OMG so pumped!!   Dont kno who sjids and mudflap are... the twins?

Brodee 4/3/2009 9:15:31 AM

Wheelie is an Autobot. He arrived in the original 1986 animated Transformers The Movie.

"Wheelie say make friends today!" - Not something you would typically hear from a Decepticon.

Killerville, im not really sure what you're trying to say... But anyways...

Transformers is gonna be the Sickest movie of the year Period and Exclamation mark.

But too bad it doesnt seem like Ravage pops out of Soundwave... a lil disappointed about that....or does he??

Wiseguy 4/3/2009 9:54:10 AM

killerville misses sonyman I guess

I like Shia, yeah at first I didn't but I got over it. The kid isn't half bad and he may lead a lot of good films in the future so let's stop the hate.

I was never much of a Transformers fan so I don't know some of these guys. Still looking forward to thew film. The latest trailer I saw yesterday with FF4 looked pretty awesome.

SONYMAAAAAN!!! WE NEED YOUU!!

Even though I'm one of the biggest advocates FOR  the Transformers movies oon this site, I love reading Sony's posts. tooooo funny

BTW, Does the Doctor look like Frenzy to anyone else?

MORE STARSCREAM!! I love how the Autobots seemed to fear him in the final battle of the first movie

gauleyboy420 4/3/2009 9:56:45 AM

Wise, what trailer are you talking about?

killerville 4/3/2009 10:23:38 AM

Yeah, just a bit of swallows nostalgia.

Other than that, cast looks good, robots look good...Ready to stop talking about this thing and see it.

CNCguy 4/3/2009 10:53:05 AM

They should call it GM bots! How stupid to use one car maker. Bring in the ferraris Porches and other exotics instead of some cars that are going to be obsolete in a few year when GM crumbles.
