'Transformers' roster revealed! Plus: Hugh Jackman wants to premiere 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' in your home town! More 'Scott Pilgrim' set photos. 'Red' dawning at Summit? 'Men in Black' returning? The daily column that's only happy when it rains, it's your Comics2Film 9.4.3!
M.I.B.III In The Works?
In case you missed it, Mania posted a report yesterday that suggests a third 'Men in Black' movie may be in the works.
The announcement was made by Sony President of Worldwide Distribution Rory Bruer at the recent ShoWest event. No other details were given.
The original 'Men In Black' stood for years as the most successful adaptation of a comic book in history. The record stood until 'Spider-Man' came along and toppled it, ushering in the Marvel age of comic book movies. The film spawned a lackluster sequel, but the concept is solid enough that we can't really fault the studio for going back and giving the franchise another shot.
RED Dawning at Summit?
Comics2Film at Mania.com has heard that Jon and Erich Hoeber's script based on the DC/Wildstorm comic 'Red' is creating plenty of buzz at Summit Entertainment.
The comic, written by Warren Ellis and illustrated by Cully Hamner, deals with a former black-ops CIA agent in quiet retirement...that is until a high-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. The agent must now reassemble his team in order to save his loved ones.
Summit snatched up the film rights last summer and word is that the Hoeber brothers' script is "phenomenal." Look for this one to heat up soon.
It appears that 'Scott Pilgrim vs The World' director Edgar Wright has abandoned the craptacular MySpace as his platform for looping fans into the production. All week, the latest set photos from the film have appeared on the far-more-pleasant EdgarWrightHere.com (which uses Flickr for its photo hosting).

TRANSFORMERS Revealed!
Thanks to the Maniacal Malachi G, who sent in a list of bots set to appear in 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen'. The list coincides with a photos posted on USA Today and Yahoo!
Man, what this comment thread needs is someone to make a bad play on Shia LeBouf's name, call him Malaysian or a tranny or both, and then turn PIG into a prefix that they stick on the beginning of every third word in their post.
Also, if that individual could call everyone who disagrees with him/her a Bush/Rove neo-con, that would be swell.
Is their anyone around brave and witty enough to take care of that for us?
Holy crap the decepticons ARE stacked!!! I thought wheelie was an autobot? Very excited to see sideswipe and Jetfire!!! Sideswipe is probably the corvette.. right? OMG so pumped!! Dont kno who sjids and mudflap are... the twins?
I like Shia, yeah at first I didn't but I got over it. The kid isn't half bad and he may lead a lot of good films in the future so let's stop the hate.
I was never much of a Transformers fan so I don't know some of these guys. Still looking forward to thew film. The latest trailer I saw yesterday with FF4 looked pretty awesome.
They should call it GM bots! How stupid to use one car maker. Bring in the ferraris Porches and other exotics instead of some cars that are going to be obsolete in a few year when GM crumbles.
Decepticons have a pretty stacked team.
