TRANSFORMERS 2 Has a New Title & Set Details

DreamWorks & Paramount have updated their media pages and revealed a new title for next summer's sequel. The title in itself points to previous reports that Starscream and his Decepticons will have quite a bit more screen time now that the origins have been set up in the original installment of the franchise.

The new title is Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

Obviously, the title could point to Autobots doing the revenge for Jazz but as we know, their enemies had the most casualties and "revenge" seems to be a hint that direction. What little has been revealed on the plot points to a key figure in the first film coming back in dramatic fashion and looking to settle the score. That could be Megatron coming back or it could be Starscream for all we know at this point in time.

Shooting is underway in Bethleham, Pennslyvania---the location where they're shooting their fictional Chinese city scenes---and judging by the latest set report at SHH, a lot of it seems to be taking place at night. To check out that new set report and picture, click here.

The sequel stars
Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Isabel Lucas and Rainn Wilson.

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen will hit theaters June 26, 2009.

Maybe Megatron wont return but instead he comes back as Galvatron. Man that would be soo hot.

The title is lame. They should've gone with either Transformers 2 or Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen not a combo of both.

or

Transformers: I can't tell shit when the robots are beating the crap out of each other.

Transformers: Recycled

That was my main gripe with the film hanso. They need to slow it down a bit when transforming and fighting. Otherwise is just mayhem, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Agreed, the title is lame. I'd bet (or hope) that it'll change down the line sometime.

And hanso, here's to hoping your last title won't be a good fit for the sequel. Maybe they'll get a clue and give us some wider shots this time and let us see the robots actually duke it out rather than give us a blur of machinery waaay up close.

I'm with you guys on the identity thing, but really, if there were giant frickin robots fightin and transformin in the streets, you wouldn't be able to tell what the bloody hell was goin on! Not to mention you'd be runnin for your frickin life, not sittin on the roof with a beer tryin to tell each robot apart.

Speak for yourself, vampire. The first thing I'm doin if I ever catch some giant robots fighting is grabbing a six pack and perching myself on the nearest roof.

One more note on TF2... I hope they don't bring Megatron back as the main baddy. Leave that for Part 3, the end of Part 2, or somewhere else down the line. Let Starscream take the reigns for a movie. Regular movie goers won't care and it'd give us TF fans something to smile about.

Ah, who am I kidding. I don't care what happens, I'll end up seeing it and probably end up with the Bluray. I'm a sucker for all things Transformers... Well, almost all. The Japanified shit makes me vomit. (I'm looking at you, RiD, Energon, Armada, etc)

vampire, thank you for perhaps the funniest comment i've read on any site today. And I mean that with all due respect and no ill will

Awesome this is sounding like an Empire Strikes Back kind of film where the Decepticons come back to Earth in Full Force, (The Constructicons are a sure thing and I bet some other big names get tossed into the fray), this is one I will be buying tickets to next Summer for sure.

I'm with wolfman, sooner or later they've got to have Galvatron.

"The Constructicons are a sure thing..."

LOL...no, I'm afraid NOTHING is a guarantee in a Bayformers movie! The final roster will be interesting, but there's no way of knowing just who will be on it yet.
