Bendis Enthused by POWERS Pow-Wow
Fans following comics creator Brian Michael Bendis on Facebook learned yesterday that things are progressing with the 'Powers' TV pilot for the cable FX network.
Bendis posted, "'Powers' TV meeting went so well no one knew what to do with themselves afterwards. Stay tuned ..."
The writer revealed in February that plans for the theatrical feature film had been halted and he was writing the script for a TV pilot for the cable net that brings you edgy fare like 'The Shield', 'Sons of Anarchy' and 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'.
In August he let slip that the show had a director and show-runner on board.
'Powers' is Bendis' break-out title which he co-created with artist Michael Avon Oeming. It started at Image Comics and later transitioned over to Marvel's Icon imprint. The book details two police detectives, Walker and Pilgrim, who work the streets of a city that holds its share of superheroes, many of which have been forced into retirement. Walker holds a secret from his partner, that he was once the super hero Diamond andhas since lost his powers. As the series unfolds we learn that Walker has more secrets than even he realizes.

Seth Rogen as GREEN HORNET
Better GREEN HORNET Photos
Splash News, who came though with the 'Green Hornet' video yesterday, now has high-resolution photos of actor Seth Rogen in his crime-fighting gear.
In the opinion of C2F, the topcoat and mask are on target (at least with the TV show of the 1960s) and Rogen actually looks as good as Van Williams wearing the duds. The green does read a bit loud in these daylight shoots, but he ain't the Black Hornet and who's to say how things will look when filtered through director Michel Gondry's lens?
MTV Splash Page also has a photo from the same set.
What do you think, Maniacs? Does Rogen fill the bill? Post your comments below...

Goyer Talks GHOST RIDER 2
The news last week that David Goyer would get another shot at 'Ghost Rider' with the planned sequel to the film caused a bit of a stir. Collider.com followed up with the filmmaker to see what he has planned for the film.
Goyer confirms that 'Ghost Rider 2' will be based on his pre-existing script, which was written for a "hard R" rating, but he's going to polish it for the PG-13 target that Sony wants. He does hope to make it as edgy as the PG-13 rated 'Dark Knight' was.
Check out the video interview.
Eddie Furlong in GREEN HORNET?
Speaking of the 'Green Hornet' movie, People.com dropped the news that actor Edward Furlong is in the film.
People's article focuses on the actors continuing troubles, which seem to have been on going since he received effusive praise for his debut in 1991's 'Terminator 2'. Furlong is reportedly in the process of a painful and contentious divorce. His wife Rachael Kneeland has reportedly asked for a restraining order and alleges that Furlong is using drugs and has attacked and threatened her.
Furlong's people deny the charges. However, an unnamed friend admitted to people that the actor was detained and released by authorities. The friend says Furlong is not using drugs but told People they're trying to help him get on his feet so he can start work on '
Green Hornet
' this weekend.
Bay Starts TRANSFORMERS 3
Via MichaelBay.com, director Michael Bay has announced that he's begun work on 'Transformers 3', which now has a release date of July 1st, 2011.
Writes the bombastic direfctor:
Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.
Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.
He also takes a playful swipe at his leading lady...
P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.
Pain and Gain is right after shooting of Trans 3.
In case there was any doubt that the entire band is coming back together for the money-printing sequel, ET Online assures us that Shia LaBeouf and Fox are both on board for it.

Jon Favreau Tweets about IRON MAN 2
Editing on 'Iron Man 2' proceeds apace, according to the Favman's twitter feed. He posts...
# Editing away in a dark room. Watching Iron Man 2 take shape. This is my favorite part of the process. 3:17 PM Sep 30th
# Mountain biking with wife in Malibu listening to @DJ_AM on the iPod. Now off to edit. 11:00 AM Oct 1st
DJ AM is, of course, the recently-deceased musician Adam Goldstein who appears in the movie. Favreau tweeted about Goldstein being on the set last April. A subsequent July report revealed details of the scene the musician filmed. Tragically, the man was found dead of an accidental drug overdose on August 28th of this year.
Yeah, Transformers 3! Bring it on. I don't care what the haters say, I loved 2 and can't wait for more. I'd love to see an autobot combination team of robots like the Dinobots take on Devastator. He was definitely under used in 2 and I want to see more of that behemoth.
