Hoover built the dam and hid the knowledge of the Allspark and Megatron which is why they created sector 7.  There hasn't been any mention on th US government at large being advised about it.  Sector 7 seemed to run in the background in the first movie.  So why not wait until the actual film before saying they erased their own history from the first film.

Plus it was NASA on the moon.  Why would Sector 7 share that information with them.

Wiseguy 12/11/2010 10:16:12 AM

Yeah that's what I thought too Byzarro, that Sector 7 was kept secret even from the main part of govt. so NASA would definitely be out of the loop.

But since we're talking about things that don't make sense how about giant living robots from outer space ^o)

Ok, going by that logic, sector 7 was created to keep it all a big secret. Ok, Sector 7 got the information about the Mars rover from NASA, right? Well why wouldnt NASA also mention the big alien space ship on the moon that they found in 1969. All I am saying is that someone, Sector 7 or the US gov should have known about this already. Even in the crazy mythology of TF, someone should have known and it should have been included in the first movie.

I think the filmakers are trying too hard to tie the Transformers into our earths history. I think it worked well with introducing the robots in the first film, but it did not work with the pyramids in the second one. Now they are trying to tie the Transformers into the moon walk and space race. Seems like they are trying to work the same plot device into each film. Seriously, lets leave the treasure hunts and conspiracies to Nick Cage and Tom Hanks. This is Transformers, they have their own mythology. Next thing you know they will be trying to tie Optimus Prime into Vatican.

I am a TF fan and I will see this movie regardless. The robot in the preview looks sick (I think it could be Unicron). However, I see some plot holes and the history lessons are getting old. So I am getting worried.

Movie isnt even out yet and it already has a massive plot hole, oh i can't wait to hear Tuturros character to explain this one, or Bay for the fact. I mean c'mon, Bay should've kept Orci & Kurtzman(TF1 writers & partially TF2) around just to slap em in the back of the head for not spotting this. In all seriousness TF3 better get good, maybe even decent reviews or word of mouth before I shell out any cash at the theater, if not its a blockbuster, redbox or netflix night.

I'm not sure why Favreau wants to shy away from the magic, if he's going to embrace the Marvel Universe he should know magic is a part of that universe, or do you really think Thor's hammer is powered by Duracell?  And I think Tony Stark's discomfort around magic would be an interesting piece of storyline.  That said, Mandarins ring aren't magic, they're alien technology.

The teaser looks interesting, I look forward to seeing more.

Kenny-that better not be Unicron! Maybe Primus. But, they better not have made Unicron a little pion robot. He was a menacing planet eating mo-fo. That would be FF:TROTSS and their BS cloud like Galactus all over again.

kennynine 12/14/2010 4:40:12 AM

I hope it is not, but i am thinking Unicron is the moon, Bay likes to go large, and what better than the moon being a robot and eating earth. We shall see
