With the news that Dreamwave Productions is now out of business, talk has begun concerning where (if anywhere) a new TRANSFORMERS comic book would be published. According to one of our scoopers named Tony (and also reported today in the weekly Lying in the Gutters column at Comic Book Resources, Devil's Due Publishing is the new home for TRANSFORMERS comics.
Devil's Due already publishes another high-profile comic book series based on a popular Hasbro toy line, namely G.I. JOE. According to Gutters columnist Rich Johnson, Hasbro is apparently "happy that both of their major toyline licensees will remain under one roof as they did with Marvel." Johnson goes on to report that the buzz pegs Devil's Due founder Josh Blaylock and G.I. JOE artist Tim Seeley as the writer and artist team on the new TRANSFORMERS book.
