You gotta beleive there'll be some Iron Mayhem at Comic-con this year!

'Transformers'-Mania is running wild on the web. Plus: Branagh talks about 'Thor'! Photos from the set of 'Scott Pilgrim'! McBride on 'Hench' and more! Moistening the edge to secure a seal, it's your Comics2Film 9.6.4!
MTV Splash Page chatted up Kenneth Branagh about 'Thor'. Once again the director proves elusive in revealing much about the project.
Branagh told the site that he's been reading the earliest Lee/Kirby comics, as well as the most recent, well-received J. MichaelStraczynski run.
"There are many Thors and many accounts of the stories across nearly 50 years of the comics. We look to raid from the best," Branagh said. He also said he's drawing on the expertise of Marvel's caretakers, from Joe Quesada to Brian Michael Bendis. "A lot of the job up to this point has been listening to people who know more and better than I. I have a very strong view of how to approach it myself, but I’m still listening and learning happily."
Marketing efforts on 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' are cranking up to 11 as we approach the film's June 24th release date. We've got a flurry of autobot stories in today's blast. First up...
IGN has revealed a new poster for featuring Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and the two human stars of the film.
On Monday, when actor/filmmaker Danny McBride said he wanted to include DC Comics villains in his upcoming project 'Hench', we said it seemed unlikely to us. Now, McBride is downplaying that angle when asked about it by MTV Splash Page.
McBride said that while the movie focuses on the henchman point of view the audience will see a lot superheroes and villains. However, when asked directly if he really plans to incorporate DC comics characters into the movie, which is based on the indie graphic novel by Adam Beechen, he said, “Who knows? Once we write this filthy dirty script, probably no one’s going to want to be involved with it."
He then talks about a tertiary (is the word you want, Danny) DCU character who can throw his arms. Perhaps he's referring to the rather obscure character named "Captain Marvel" who arrived on the scene after the classic "Shazam" character and before Marvel co-opted the name. Check out the actors comments:
And...here's a TV spot from 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' where Optimus Prime beseeches the reluctant-for-no-apparent-reason Shia LaBeouf to side with the Autobots...
Phone maker LG has launched a new site promoting 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' as well as their new Versa phone model (which is doubtless featured in the film).
The LG N.E.S.T. site puts you in the role of a member of the Non-biological Extra-terrestrial Species Team with wallpapers, ring tones, trailers and images to download, a game for your mobile phone, a sweepstakes to enter and an ad for the new LG Versa phone.
The centerpiece of the site though are the Missions, which create a pretty clever integration of your telephone and web browser. You key in your phone number and moments later N.E.S.T. command rings your line. No big deal, right? We've seen this in everything from 'Snakes on a Plane' to 'Dark Knight' and even the previous 'Transformers' movie.
What's cool though is that some animated action begins in your web browser as you talk to the mission commander on the phone. The voice commands you give him actually manipulate the action on your screen. We don't recall seeing that on a promo site before. Of course, the game broke down when we started to give the mission commander bad instructions and then cursed him out for his failures.

Edgar Wright continues his barrage of daily photos from the set of 'Scott Pilgrim vs The World'. The latest give fans a glimpse of newcomer actor Satya Bhabha in costume as Matthew Patel, the first of Ramona Flowers' evil boyfriends that Pilgrim must defeat.
According to Wikipedia, Patel is "Indian. Has mystical powers and can summon Demon Hipster Girls at will. Scott gets $2.10 for defeating him."
And now, a bitter episode of...

Sleep while you can, Mr. Favreau. Comics2Film at Mania has your number...
I was never a reader of Thor, but I am definitely intrigued as to how KB & co. will bring it to the screen.
On the flip side... that is a pretty bad movie poster for Transformers - not that I feel inclined to see the film. The bot detail makes it look too busy (a similar issue I have have with the first film), the action doesn't seem meaningful, the color tones between the bots and the humans seem mismatched. Not that movie posters need to be grand pieces of art, but considering the title, I would rather see a simple play off the Decepticon symbol. Now, are these two real or possibly fan art as the article suggests? They certainly look better to me, but also make me long for an animated film.
David Carradine was found dead. Didn't see a post on here so just thought I'd mention it here since short of time. Of course maybe I'm just blind.
As for Thor, I think this movie is a dumb idea. I hope they prove me wrong.
Against my better judgement, I'm getting excited for Transformers. I don't know anything about Hex or Pilgrim. I mean really I haven't even read the things on this site yet, so I'll go into those blind. I mean not literally, because my vision is fine.
Almost, I have asked about the appeal of Hex to people who are aware of the character and never gotten a concise answer...not that i'm against anything based on what lil i know, just wonder what makes it a character to invest so much attention other than a hinged lip and evil eye...lol
I've uncovered some of the "Lost Tweets" from Jon Favreau on the set of Iron Man 2. Tweets the Marvel execs didn't want the public to see.
Check it out at "K is for Komics":

Now that 1/3 or more of the list has been released, did I miss the "2009 Summer Predictions" postings? I had a list all made up and ready to go!
Even larger predictions are coming in for TF2....on one hand, I'm worried that it's being overhyped....on the other hand, I'm hoping is well deserved hype....
I'm pumped about Thor and like that Branagh is listening to the people that know. I think Favreau went through a similar process for IM and we know how that turned out.
Hench sounds like it could be really cool. Sort of reminds me of The Venture Brothers and henchmen 21 and 24
Comicon is almost here, I wonder if Favreau is going to have something ready for that.
