The nominations for the Oscars have been announced.
The graphic novel based 'Persepolis' continues it's trail of acclaim by garnering a nomination in the Animated Feature Film block. It's competing with 'Ratatouille' and 'Surf's Up'.
'Transformers' flexed its robotic muscles by collecting a trio of technical nominations. The pic is up for Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects.
Surprisingly, neither '300' nor 'Spider-Man 3' received any notices for their innovative technical work.
