The fact that it sounds like it got an R rating and then got knocked down to PG-13 without changing the movie is what appeals to me. Sounds like it will be skating the edge a bit.
As long as Bumblebee doesn't scream "Yipeee!" I think I'll be okay with this.
The R rating cut:
OPTIMUS PRIME: Bumblebee... What the (beep) are you doing?
BUMBLEBEE: Stop sweatin me Prime before I shove my foot up your (beep).
MEGATRON: Stop your (beep) Prime and take this (beep--beep--beep) whippin I'm about to hand you and your (beep-beep) Autobots.
MIRAGE: (shocked at the size of Megatrons gun) Oh (BEEP)!
Its amazing how much influence the Spielbergs and Lucas' have on the Industry. M Night wishes he was on that level!!! He can't even get a movie made the way he wants, let alone change the rating without altering the film.
This could change the movie ratings again, because he has pushed up the threshhold for pg-13 films.
I am in agreement with godsonfilm, the interesting thing in this story is that Spielberg is able to get the rating on one film changed without a single cut. That kind of power is impressive.
I'm hoping this means the action is intense.
Quoth narpin: "My Transformers movie came out in 1985 and was animated. I own it on DVD. Eff this crap."
Yyyyyeah. You'd think someone with such staunch opinions would know the original TF movie came out in *1986*. "Eff this crap," indeed.
Hooray for open minds!! This movie shall rock.
The fact that initailly it was R is great news for most of us, getting a PG-13 is great news for the studio. We can expect a more widely entertaining movie that will also make a ton of jack.
I think Bay is not as bad as people make him out to be and I am really looking forward to this movie, even though I am NOT a Transformers groupie. I don't see any way this movie doesn't make at least 175-225 mil in the US.
