TRANSFORMERS Revisit Military Base

It seems that director Michael Bay just can't get enough military devices into his Transformers film. The first installment was thick with the military element and this sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has incorporated a lot of the same theme going by previous set reports. One of the first production locations announced earlier this year was Holloman Air Force Base in southern New Mexico. The Air Force Times report that production has moved back to the base a few months later.
Last week, hundreds of airmen showed up for a movie casting call at the base.
Parts of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" are set to be filmed in Alamogordo, N.M., home to Holloman. Scenes from the first "Transformers" were shot at Holloman in 2006 and featured aircraft such as the CV-22 Osprey and MH-53 Pave Low.
"About 200 people will be hired as extras to portray military members," Maryellen Aviano, extras casting coordinator for DreamWorks Pictures, said in an Air Force news release.
Meanwhile, screenwriter Roberto Orci has been answering direct questions to fans on a Transformers messageboard. The sequel will star Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Isabel Lucas, Rainn Wilson and Jennifer Alden. Bay is once again behind the camera, based on a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Ehren Kruger.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will hit IMAX and standard theaters June 26, 2009.
