Nothing is official yet, especially when it comes to Star Wars and Lucasfilm. With that being said, The Hollywood Reporter has learned of some casting news for Star Wars Rebels

THR/HeatVision has learned that David Oyelowo, Freddie Prinze Jr., Vanessa Marshall, Taylor Gray and Steven Jay Blum are in the process of being cast as the voice leads for the series, which will make its debut in fall 2014”.

The animated series will take place between Episodes III and IV. What we do know is that series revolves around the crew of The Ghost (the ship seen below).

Lucasfilm has announced that Star Wars Rebels will have a panel at the New York Comic Con in October. Hopefully we wil have some official news then. Mania will be attendance to bring you the latest on this animated series. Check out our Star Wars Celebration II coverage (here and here).

Star Wars Rebels arrives in the Fall of 2014.

the ship looks very similiar to the Falcon.  Hopefully they do a good job like they did with the Clone Wars.

I just went on a binge watch and watched Clone Wars Seasons 1-4 on blu-ray in the past month. All I have to say is "wow!".

The cartoons were way better than the prequels. So impressed with the quality of the stories and animation. Just the Umbara storyline with jedi master Pong Krell was fan-fucking-tastic and had none of the major characters.

Dave Filoni is working on this one so it's in good hands for sure. I'm just afraid they will kidify this one for Disney. Clone Wars for CN was pretty dark and violent. High body count.

I think that the ship looks closer to the escape shuttle from Alien/Aliens. I should know because I had a model of the ship. The over all triangular shape of the ship is the same the only difference is the design of the engines and the gun turrets.

yes, Redvector, a mix of both. Perhaps Weyland was a Correllian?

All I know is that it should be a big seller.

@ElBaz13 - I don't think they'll change much of the darkness. Considering some of the stuff out there under the Disney umbrella, i.e. Once Upon a Time, and anything Marvel, I think they'll stick with the same dark tone we've grown to appreciate. And I'm glad you enjoyed TCW. That was an excellent series with no shortage of entertainment value and storytelling capability. Me and my kids watched it religiously.
