Not really surprised to hear that Topher hasn't been approached about Venom.  I doubt he is all that surprised, either.

Ernest Borgnine is still alive...? WOW! Did he outlive everybody on mchales navy or what?

don't you guys think a Venom movie is kind of a stretch I mean i dont even get the appeal in the comic..its kinda just a novelty gone out of control that people can take or leave..

Wow. Red is really getting quite the cast.  And I keep hearing about that Priest adaptation from TokyoPop. I'll belive it when I see it. Got a couple of volumes and it seemed like a neat series.

OH hell yes Borgnine is still alive, and chances are if you reach the age of 92 you'll only be wishing you're as active as him.  And Tim Conway and a couple others of the McHales crew are still alive too.

Borgnine is still alive and when he was asked a few years ago what his secret was for staying acitve he said and I and I kid you not "I masturbate alot." It was on live tv on one of the morning shows. I thought the interviewer was going have a stroke and the other two anchors sitting next to Borgnine looked about to piss themselves. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to pass out. What made it so funny he said so deadpan you couldn't tell if he was serious or not.

I can't see Eva Green in GL. I don't know if she can do that kind of role? Kerri Russel would be interesting though...I though her moments in MI:3 were good.

Borngnine is as tough as nalils; kudos to him wheter he spanks the monkey alot or not!

Topher would love to get a chance at Venom, but he knows it isn't going to happen. Although I could see him showing up in other capacities as far as comic movies are concerned. Hate to say it, but he would be great as a sidekick.....

I like all the choices for Ferris except Lively.  I have no idea how she is as an actress but she's a nobody compared to even Green.  If they were seriously concidering off the wall choices for the role more would be in the mix.  I think Green and Russell work best.

Recasting Brock with something like Urban for instance is the way to go for the totally unnecessary Venom movie.  (Unless it get Sony to shut up about the Vulture issue then I'm all for it.)

By the way, my first thought after reading the headline was "But Deforest Kelly is dead..."

Wiseguy 12/21/2009 12:59:52 PM

I have to go with Kruger for Carol. I think she'd be great. The Lively girl looks good too. Garner would be a wreck IMO

So that Adele film is about newspaper salesmen?

Venom? For some reason I think this will stay in development hell for a very long time

The cast of RED is looking pretty awesome. Don't know jack about the comic but will definitely give the film a shot

Not really that interested in Madman but would see it if it gets made. Sin City 2 is where Rodriguez needs to get to work.

I can't wait to see Red!

Wyldstaar 12/22/2009 11:35:38 AM

Well TK421, I'd say a Venom movie with no Spidey ties would have seen as much success as a Catwoman movie with no ties to Batman.  What is it with people in Hollywood who decide to make a film based on a much beloved book, think they can use the original version as toilet paper, and still make a successful movie?  The fact that these bastardized versions always fail miserably doesn't seem to educate them very much, either.
