When Trick r’ Treat finally arrived in 2007, it was the end of a very long wait. Finally, horror fans had both a new horror anthology and Halloween themed picture for October. However, that was it, only one picture. FearNet was on hand, at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, for a screening of Trick ‘r Treat and learned that a sequel is finally getting the green light.

A special screening of Trick ' r Treat was held at Hollywood's Egyptian Theatre last night, with director Michael Dougherty, producer Bryan Singer and stars Dylan Baker, Quinn Lord and Brian Cox in attendance.  After the screening, the cast and crew held a Q&A session, which is when the bombshell announcement was made that one of the most requested horror sequels of all time is at long last headed our way.

Sam himself appeared on stage during the Q&A, handing Doughtery a note that read ‘MAKE A SEQUEL!’  Doughtery remarked that it's not his call, which prompted Legendary Pictures' founder Thomas Tull to stand up and chime in.  "I can't say no to Sam," he said.  "Let's make a sequel!"

With that nonchalant announcement, a Trick 'r Treat 2 graphic popped up on the big screen, and the crowd reacted the way they by all means should've - erupting into cheers and applause”.

This is great news for both director Michael Dougherty, producer Bryan Singer, and horror fans everywhere. Check out Mania write up on Trick ‘r Treat here in our Shock-O-Rama column.

Great news for sure. Hope the studio doesn't screw them over again and it ended up being a straight to video movie.

Trick R Treat was too good for straight to video.

Damn. I thought this was the long-awaited sequel to the 1986 movie with Marc "Skippy" Price, Gene Simmons, and Ozzy Osbourne. Now there's a movie that deserves a where-are-they-now sequel!

I really dug this film. I thought Sam had the potential of becoming one of horror's iconic figures.

I remember seeing the trailer and getting stoked, then hearing or seeing nothing until my buddy rented a copy from the local family video.  Hoping this one gets the release the last one deserved.
