The folks at Sakura-Con have scored quite the coup for US fans attending the Seattle based convention on April 2nd to 4th by having the world premiere of the new Trigun: Badlands Rumble movie. The Japanese release date is April 24th this year so they're getting it three weeks earlier than its home country release. Trigun had quite the big following back when it was released and the character of Vash the Stampeded was one of the most cosplayed ones during the convention seasons surrounding its release from Pioneer/Geneon. Yasuhiro Nightow's original science fiction cyber Western comic and TV animation was widely introduced overseas, and has gained popularity internationally, and is particularly popular in the United States.
In Makkah, a town surrounded by quicksand, there are rumors about a legendary big Gasback robbery gang. The mayor, Kepler, is assembling ruffians to protect the town. There is a reward for the Gasback gang, which brings in bounty hunter after bounty hunter. Merrill and Milly visit the town for an insurance assessment, and they are appalled by the situation. Moreover, they see in their line of sight the form of Vash the Stampede. Merrill, in awe and feeling the tragedy of destruction, plans to somehow chase Vash out of town. However, Vash, as usual, is nonchalantly making passes at a female bounty hunter Amelia.I n the middle of this all, the Gasback gang suddenly appears back in town. And in the confusion, is that Wolf Wood...
Amid all the various expectations and complications, here opens the first act...
