Sean Bean (Fellowship of the Ring), Lena Heady (300, "Sarah Connor Chronicles") and Rupert Friend will be having some supernatural medieval surprises in BLACK DEATH, says the Hollywood Reporter. Geoff Sax will direct, based on a screenplay penned by Dario Poloni. Ecosse Films co-chiefs Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae will co-produce alongside Jens Meurer. Production will be handled in Germany and the U,K.

Plot Concept: Set in an apocalyptic medieval world, "Death" details the story of a band of brothers whose quest is to hunt down a necromancer against the backdrop of the first outbreak of bubonic plague in England. Friend will play a young monk sent to investigate rumors of people being brought back to life, while Bean plays a mercenary priest who arrives in the same village. Against the backdrop of the peaceful village lies a pact with the forces of darkness, orchestrated by the village ruler (Headey).

If it looks cool, maybe i'll see it on dvd or something,,,,but it just doesn't sound like my cup of plague.

I love the medieval stuff. Throw in a little witchcraft, forces of darkness, swords and the bubonic plague and it almost sounds like it should be a Conan movie. I'll be there for this one.

Oh, so this is one of those feel-good, light-hearted, comedic romps through the Middle Ages. Can't wait!
