Disney XD has released the teaser trailer for Tron: Uprising. The series is set to premiere on Disney XD in June. The series features the voices talents of Elijah Wood, Lance Henrikson, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Nate Corddry, Reginald VelJohnson, Fred Tatasciore, and the original Tron himself, Bruce Boxleitner.
Plot Concept: The Grid, a world of shimmering, digital wonder, was introduced to moviegoers in 1982 film Tron and then taken to a new visual level in Tron: Legacy in 2010. Now the Grid is going to television and expanding with a wider mythology and new characters — and more of the sleek, glowing vehicles that fans love.
Tron: Uprising, was developed by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, the same tandem that wrote Tron: Legacy, and they say the freedom of animation is allowing to explore the Grid without the constraints of a special effects budget.

I wasn't a huge fan of the film to be honest. I keep saying that I need to see the original but never get around to it. However I may check this out.  maybe it'll make me grow fonder of this world

Not a fan of the seond one either, story wise. Love the original and love the sequel's music. This looks like fun.

Wasn't a fan of the second one either. Went back and watched the original again and was kind of bored. Guess I only loved it as a kid.

Didn't really like either. I'm sure the first one was visually stunning back in the day, though I never had interest, and the sencond one at least looked cool.

Wiseguy, as your virtual Mania friend:  You really should watch the original.  I'm not saying it's a spiritual awakening or anything like that, but you really should check it out.  I didn't see it until I was in college and my buddy who I was sharing an apartment with at the time owned it on DVD.  If nothing else, you have to praise it for the effects, which were absolutely amazing for the time period.  And I actually really enjoyed the sequel.

Also, this week will be a great week for me for watching late night movies.  I had to put my dog to sleep yesterday and we used to love eating junk food and watching late night movies.

Love the original and thought the sequel was pretty good.
A few missteps, but then you are dealing with a 20 year gap.

All in all, I look forward to checking this out.
I know they green lit a third, but haven't heard any other developments on it yet.
Maybe if the interest in this is high enough, they will kick it into gear.

I know in the third one there is a rumor about Tron being reprogrammed into a female avatar. The proposed title for it is Tronny.

Thank you Mr J E.  Funniest comment I've read on this site in some time.

I have seen both in the theatres, and both were a good time, well spent ticket money.  This animated series will be checked out by me.  I'll give it a full season to see if it lives up to my expectations.
