could this be the first game movie to not suck? well, I actually dug Mortal Kombat...but I digress. I need to go back and play this game again. I went on a game frenzy and bought World in Conflict, Orange Box, CoD4, and Unreal Tournament 3 in about 5 weeks time. So Bioshock got put on the back burner. I just built my new machine so would be nice to run it max everything. I was enjoying the story and the atmosphere. One game that I didnt mind not having an online element. Lets hope that its done faithfully.

its a pretty fun game. the world is just huge. so much junk you can do. havent played online yet but soon! I have now played online. And its awesome. Me and two other guys were riding around in cars trying to mow the other team down, all while listening to smooth jazz.

if its a sandbox style game, like gta4 and what not, it could prove to have some replay. but yeah unless there is a good multiplayer component to games, once the solo part is done, there is usually little to do. I just saw some teaser for it and it could be interesting, have to wait and see if there is a demo or something for it. Spiderman 2 was alot of fun but 3 was ass.

werd dwanderer...I put beetle juice as one word and omitted the commas from lock, stock and got it wrong. they really should do something where at least if you have the words in there you get it right. missing the punctuation or putting X-men 3 instead of X-men: last stand, is retarded. i must say that the eps that evoke the most emotional response from me are the ones that have been jin and sun centric. next would be desmond and penny, but i digress. as far as aaron being official, i thought so. cuz i seem to remember in the preview for this past ep the announcer said the final member would be revealed...or maybe i was just on crack. but if thats so then who the F is in the casket. i thought it would be locke... alot of people on the lost forums seem to think no though because he was born on the island. time will tell.

i thought that what they meant is that there wouldnt be any stunt cgi, i.e. virtual performers like in Ep 1,2 and 3 of star wars. of course some stuff will have the aid of cgi for safety reasons, like the cliff but for the most part it was awesome, that was indeed someone swinging from the rafters and indeed someone crashing through the cab of the truck. cant wait though.

as to the "why?" for the 4k screens, my guess would be for the same reason it makes no sense to get 1080p on a 32" screen...only opposite. The bigger you make the screen, the more detail you need to make it not look like crap. Kinda like line doublers and quadruplers in the days of ye olde home theatre, when you had giant wall screens. It will be interesting if BR-D can hang with the 4k stuff. Im sure if they go quad layer or whatever it wont be a problem. Im also ready for the format thing to settle so Criterion can start pumping out HD titles, since they too are waiting for the war to end.

hanso- i think they already have something better than 1080p. the new plasma they showed off at the CES this year was dubbed 4k. 1080 X 4 on lines of resolution. no price or date was anounced. i think they said that the new OLED screens would also be 4k and they are more reasonable sized for us common folk.

i think transformers will probably win. im still scratching my head at bourne. if bourne is considered, why not live free or die hard? just seems out of place considering the cgi heavies in the list. 300 could be a contender too but then i think back to sin city which basically used the same techniques and i dont think it was given a nod. time will tell though. im just an ILM fanboy, everything they do seems to be really amazing.

i havent seen a blu ray player other than the ps3 that will play standard dvds. i know mine doesnt do it and its only about 4 months old. sony just gets dogged cuz they like to have EVERYTHING proprietary Minidisc, the loathsome memory stick, UMD (which shoulda been called Sony Mini Disc cuz it damn sure aint universal ) and of course beta and so on. I still dont care cuz I have both players. And if one becomes dead, so be it, I still have my LaserDisc player with plenty of LD's...most of which arent even on DVD. Im still amazed that Sony charges 25 bucks for EIGHT megabytes of storage for the ps2. that should be illegal. anywho, doesnt look like this thing is gonna settle any time soon.

Seemed kinda sappy but after my attachment to Journeyman and it since being severed, might pick it up and read it. Looking forward to the movie too, after all it does have Peter Gibbons in it.

yeah i was pretty shocked that they just re-released the standard dvd as opposed to a blu ray edition. Id also like to see disney dig back into the vault and give us Tron, Black Hole...maybe some of the newer classic animations like Tarzan, Beauty & the Beast...

Hatchet was awesome. I had never heard of it when me and the girl were looking for a movie to go see. I read a quick review on the theatres website and we went. This is how I remember horror movies being when I was a kid which made it that much more awesome.

Netflix has BluRay AND HD-DVD, I think Hanso might have been cornfused with Blockbuster, as they are BR exclusive. I have both players. I cant tell a difference in audio or picture quality. They both look and sound great. Only gripe is the BluRay Player takes about 10 seconds longer than the HD-DVD to boot up. I picked up Potter on HD-DVD...why? Cuz it was the one that I picked up, no other reason. To each his own.
