I’m a 50 year old black man and I love Robert Downey Jr's take on a brotha. If Eddie Murphy can do it as well as other black comedians, (Wayans Brothers as two white girls) then certainly one as talented as Downy can pull this off. I mean that's what Actors do- they act. I also enjoyed the play between Downie and the real black man.
A white man should not be limited to just playing white characters. I mean every black man does not hail from de ghetto, or speak in broken English. (Some black actors fall into the trap of black-speak, and limit themselves) Just as every white person is not born in a trailer park. There is no one criterion for defining blackness. Hope I didn’t offend.
But seriously I laughed out loud. This could work!

That was treally funny. I'm looking forward to this. Chocobar was right last time when he compared this to Galaxy Quest. Loved Downey Jr. in this, I bet he steals the movie.

This looks awesome! I'm there! This movie has everything I love about movies, comedy, action, overly-dramatic-acting, epic scope, war, gritty realism, etc. I love it! I like the actors in this and the spoofing on Hollywood's eccentricities to make realistic movies. And finally a good role for Nick Nolte. Anytime I see Nolte or Busey playing a burn-out war vet it's been a good casting call. Wether it's a serious role or a funny one. I like how gritty they make the jungle look, like it's actually dirty, which it is. But if you watch movies like Rambo II you'd think differently. I mean how do they keep themselves so clean? Are a canister of Klean Wipes a part of a one-man-army's gear? Don't get me wrong I loved the movie for what it was but that fact made me laugh.
Anyhow-
This is going to be good. It's like they're trying to act over the top, which is easy for Stiller and Black.

I really find Stiller as terribly unfunny most of the time - the last film I watched that he was in was Mystery Men - but I might have to give this one a chance.
