This was alright episode, but it left me angry with that SH*TTY cover of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World"!

I loved Russell's accent change - though i can't help but wonder why we didn't see it in S3 when Eric killed his BF. Still - a great character moment.

Whatever the accent change means it was very pronounced, and cool!  Russell is awesome, such a dangerous and seemingly unlimited in power villian!

Good episode, great season so far, I guess they will get a 6th and possibly 7th season!

totally agree with you SC, had to rush to hit mute!  Nasty ass cover, nasty.

Geez, WTF just happened? I just typed a long comment and it just vanished?

Okay, now it's I was saying....

I've lost most of my love for this show. It used to be a show about a world alot like our own where vampires revealed their existence and the consequences of that. We saw it all through the eyes of our main character Sookie with her own unusual gifts. Mysterious and sometimes shocking things would happen but not anything hugely bizarre.

Now with each passing season the show has become more soap-opera-sh (in the worst sense of that word) and...silly. Characters suddenly take off the wall turns and more and more of the most weird events happen everywhere. It's as though each season new writers try a completely different take on the show. Were-panther families, pagan spirits, or witches pop up and are just gone like they never existed by next season.

It was a world where vampires exposed was a world changing event but meeting someone like a mind-reading Sookie was still a magical event. Now there are werewolves, shapeshifters, fairies, ghosts, witches & sorcerers, evil ifrits, and goddesses around every corner. In all the history of the world where were all these supernatural things before and why are they everywhere now?

The only thing that a least keeps me partially watching are all the attractive women but the convoluted behavior, weird situations, and outrageous supernatural events have just put me off the show. Now I kind of feel about it the way I did for Smallville: what wacko silliness could they possibly come up with next?

Hey Monkey - most everything in the show is sourced from the books in one way or another. Not sure it helps you any, but it is what it is, and mostly true to the essence of the source.

Just be glad the were tigers haven't shown up yet :).

Ha! I totally agree with the terrible juve-emo cover of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World". What's even odder is it plays over the last few shots, which is not something TB typically does.

A good show that is unfortunatley week in many sub plots as well as deluted and to add to that, no real good resolution to allot of those sub plots story lines...I loved the episode from last season where Jason Stackhouse had to save jessica from turning to ashes when the witches were making all the vamps go out into the day, now that was a great story line and to bad half the vamps on earth did not die, that would make this vamp revolution a little more exciting knowing they're numbers are not so large...All in all I seem to find myself coming back to this show every sunday an;d all in all I still kind of like it :)
