IDW Publishing has seen positive results with its True Blood comic book series, the first issue of which had sales over 47,000 copies and has the first series coming in trade form this February in time for Valentine's Day, so it's little surprise that the book turned HBO TV series would find itself getting a second series. What marks this second series as different is that it will be written by both Michael McMillian and Marc Andreyko while Joe Corroney will be providing the art for it. McMillian is the creator of "Lucid" but is better known to True Blood fans as Reverend Steve Newlin from the HBO series.
In the press release sent out, McMillian had said that "Marc and I are working hard to make sure the series feels like an extension of the show," he added. "'True Blood' fans should expect lots of action, gore, sex, humor and of course, awesome cliffhangers!"
Plot Summary: Jessica goes berserk from exposure to contaminated Tru Blood in the series, with Sookie, Bill and others trying to figure out who or what’s behind it. Other new characters from the TV series making their first comic appearances include Hoyt, Terry, Arlene, and Steve Newlin.
