Both VARIETY and THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER take a look at the long Thanksgiving weekend, previewing box office performance as well as reminding us what's opening this weekend.

New films through Monday include Adam Sandler's EIGHT CRAZY NIGHTS, Clooney and Soderbergh's SOLARIS, Disney's TREASURE PLANET, Miramax's WES CRAVEN PRESENTS: THEY, and Paramount's EXTREME OPS.

The mid-November HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SCRETS combined with the strong showing of the new Bond opus DIE ANOTHER DAY mean that the new films have some very strong competition for your movie-going dollar this weekend.

VARIETY notes that since 1999, Turkey Day average opening revenue has been dropping.
