It COULD be done Rick Baker style with prosthetics I think, it's not like they are THAT oddly shaped, they are basically humanoid characters, and because they are still basically reptiles the facial movement need not be all that intricate...

Make them streamlined with Ray Park style stuntmen in wetsuit like costumes instead of the heavy Henson made puppet suits from the old days and augment the faces with CGI and make it cheaply as possible and go headlong into it and think about the rating later...
This whole culture of making films to fit a PG-13 market is ruining creativity!
If in needs to be rated R let it be rated R!

I enjoy Bays work! senseless fun...lol

I enjoy Bay's work... as long as he isn't reimagining an established source material and dumbing it down to what he thinks is "cool".  (See transformers that pee of have genetials).

I'd also like him a bit better if he didn't usually come across like a prick, but that's just me.

This could be just delayed, but that one line in the article looked like it was shelved indefinitely.  I'm all for TMNT, just keep Bay at bay.  :)

If you are going to develop a toy for those of us who like to see them on the big screen...bring on the Micronauts.

Bay misses the point of the Turtles' origin.  It was originally a satire of various comic book trends of the time.  The Turtles' ooze was the same cannister which hit Matt murdock in the head and turned him into Daredevil.  That was cute and funny.  Making them aliens from outer space is just generic and dull.

Nothing can touch the oringinal comic series.  The 2nd toon run was great until they future traveled.  They have some big problems with this franchise.

What InnerSanctum said about the Micronauts. It would have a Land of the Giants meets Star Wars kind of vibe. I remember the 1st issue of the Marvel comic where a kid was mowing the lawn in the back yard (bitching about it the whole time) when over his head a portal opens up. Out flies these toy sized space ships blasting at each other.  Even though they're toy sized their weapons pack a punch and stray laser bolts start blowing the yard apart.

Wiseguy 6/18/2012 7:10:41 AM

Let's connect the TMNT to Prometheus and have it be the ooze from that film made its way to earth somehow and changed the turtles into what they are

Anyway the film is going to happen one way or the other. Paramount is just very money conscious right now after a string of flops and terrible decisions with GI Joe and WWZ for example. They keep this up and they'll be in bankruptcy court soon enough
