TV GUIDE has three genre shows on 50 worst shows of all time

Surprisingly, given how many clunker shows the science fiction genre has produced (oh, but when one hits it's so, so sweet) when TV GUIDE unleashed its 50 Worst Shows of All Time list in this week's issue, there were only three genre entries there.

To few peoples surprise, NBC's MANIMAL made the list (ranked 15). A show about a man who could turn into different animals, it aired briefly in 1983, and was so bad we still make MANIMAL jokes almost 20 years later.

The next show was THE POWERS OF MATTHEW STAR, about a teenaged alien going to an earthling high school. It was ranked 22, and aired on NBC in the 1982-83 season. The final show... also aired on NBC. It was 1979's SUPERTRAIN, that told the story of a technologically advanced train, and the passengers who had adventures... on the train... while it shot down the rails... to train stations.
