Case in point Charlie Sheen who is a anti-simite psychotic crackhead and who got fired for it yet gets a new show on F/X.

I'll second your Mel Gibson opinion there, Hobbs. Since Mel made Passion of the Christ, it is as if he has been labeled an ultra conservative just for that. He made a mistake several years ago and nobody will let it drop. Same goes with Rush Limbaugh, and how he got villified for his comments a few weeks ago. Had someone like Bill Maher said the exact same thing, it would have never been news. It is just mind-boggling to me. I don't condone what either Mel or Rush said, but it makes no sense to forgive much more reprehensible behavior of others and not them. Oh well...
As for Eureka, I'll be sad to see it go. I can't for the life of me understand why Syfy doesn't want to keep it on the air. Oh well, SyFy is just a shell of it's former self. It used to be my favorite channel, but I hardly ever watch it anymore.
Though I have been watching Monster Man. The work they do is really interesting, but I can hardly stand any of those personalities. Roy is about the only likeable person on that show. I even kind of feel sorry for him. :)
He didn't make a mistake several years ago, he has made a mistake several times. Didn't Aristole say "you are what you repeatedly do." or was that Shaquille Oneal?. Anyways, Gibson is a straight up homophobic drunk racist. No one gave him that rep, mofo earned it with his actions.
He's been given tons of opportunities, don't know why you all acting like the cat get no work, he's working right now on a flick.
I got no beef if he wants to keep making flicks but he deserves to get made fun of from time to time for the stupid sh.it he did and will most likely continue to do.
Mel should finance that project himself, didn't he do that for Passion of the Christ. He should go ahead and make that Maccabees story and cast himself as the Jew hero in the film. All the controversy alone would make the film a hit, not to mention that it's a great story that would make for another great Mel Gibson film
And the new season of Eureka started off with a bang! Can't wait to see what happens next.
Hanso, the writer in question was Joe Eszterhas, the writer of such classics as "Basic Instinct" and "Showgirls", who's been something of a pariah in Hollywood for crazy conduct himself in recent years. Him and Gibson were working on a script about the Jewish heroes the Maccabees, an attempt by Gibson to atone for his past misdeeds. When the movie was rejected-based I'm told on Eszterhas' poor script more than any concerns about Gibson-the writer published a long rambling letter to anyone who'd listen that Gibson made constant anti-Semitic remarks, threatened his lfe, etc. Apparently this is why Eszterhas isn't liked, he has a history of these kinds of allegations. It helps him that Gibson is still an easy target for this. Gibson's done a lot of stupid things, but a lot of people in Hollywood have done far worse and walked away from it. Why people are so utterly unwilling to even attempt to give him a second chance is beyond me.
