Kara,  this latest Doctor Who season has been okay.  Matt Smith is surprising doing better than I expected back when he was first announced.  I still like Tom Baker, David Tennent and Christopher Eccleston better, but Smith isn't bad.  This past weekend's episode was pretty good and I'm looking forward to the finale this week.  There have been some episodes this season, though that I thought were kinda weak.  I didn't really like the two-parter with the stone angels.  It was disappointing after how awesome "Blink" was in season three.

Overall, I think the reviews for this season of Doctor Who have been pretty positive, but I still think it could have been much better.

redhairs, is that due to Matt Smith or the writing of the episodes?  There was a new producer this season you know and a new direction for the series (or so I read).

I was mighty fond of Tennant but I still think I liked Eccleston a little bit better.  Tom Baker was my first Doctor and still my all time favorite.

Rob, it's MOONLIGHT, not Moonlighting. You confusing with the Bruce Willis/Cybill Sheppard series

Kara, same here.  Tom will always be my favorite because he was the man when I started watching it with my dad as a kid.

I'm not sure why there have been a few episodes I wasn't that into this season.  I do like Steven Moffat who took over for Russell Davies.  He's written some of the best (at least my own favorite) episodes of the new series including The Empty Child/Doctor Dances, Blink, and The Girl in the Fireplace.  And Matt Smith is doing okay for the most part.  I think they just haven't had the "best" stories to tell this season.  There are a few that were quite good including part one of the finale.  Maybe I just miss Tennent's over the top enthusiasm in his performance.

Moz, I was wondering the samething, but I figured maybe CW decided to remake the old Moonlighting series like they did with 90210 and Melrose Place and I just hadn't heard about it.

I LOVE Being Human, very captivating and semi-original take on old tired out mythos....

I can't wait for series 3, not so much looking forward to the American re-make...

Why re-make a great british show (with the exception of the office, as different countries workplaces have very different nuanses to exploit for humor) Like Torchwood, or Being Human... Just broadcast the British shows

gauley, I can see one problem with just broadcasting Torchwood.  The accents.  I have them on DVD and sometimes I have to go back and listen to things again because I don't understand the thick welch accents.  I don't know what accents they have in Being Human as I have never seen it.

They are talking about doing an American Primeval and I don't know why as nobody has a very thick or difficult to understand accent.  I think American TV execs just like to poach cool ideas so they don't have to think up new ones themselves.

the American version of Primeval is no longer happening since the british series has been picked up for two more seasons. the American version is being converted to suite the needs for the renewel.

As of Torchword, again the same thing, it's coming back for a few more seasons so it won't have the American version for quite some time.

I have enjoued Matt Smith, but I rather have David back... it just seems he's a natrual as the Doctor.

I just find that Matt is just a bit too young and inexperenced. Granted that he is only 29 but seeing Chris or David back in the role would be cool.

todd890, I'm still holding out hope that maybe we get some type of anniversary movie soon where we get Chris, David and Matt all in one episode like the old "Three Doctors" or "Five Doctors" movies.

One of the things i miss on TV is the old series of Doctor Who. I've talked to the Space channel up here about it and I still at it. It's good to see this series back, the last time I saw the old series was during the 80's, I used to watch Lost in Space which I still love, Ive enjoyed Star Trek and Star Wars some of these I still watch to this day. I could name five different science fiction shows as well but I won't.

When Lost in Space got to be a film I was over joyed.

Concerning the Doctor I am still watching it and loving each episode they make. Two days ago I heard Neil 'a well known author' that he's been writing an episode for next season. It made my day since I'm a fan of his.

I missed out from watching Doctor Who during  the 90's and have no idea of what happened during that decade.

Since the age of 30 I've taken writing very seriously and up to the point of actaully writing scripts. Since Neil's annoucement I've decided to try my hand at writing a Doctor Who episode which will never see the light of day. At the moment I'm in the planning stages of it and one day I want to write for any Tv series out there except comedies. I just can't write comedy for some reason, I've tried and failed.

None of the older science fiction shows are on and I would love to see them back, it seems to me that everything has to be new again which irritate the hell out of me.
