TV Wasteland: The Merriest Comments -

Showing items 1 - 9 of 9

I've seen the first episode of the K-9 series. It's Australian-made but ostensibly set in London, and K-9 redesigns himself so he can fly. Proceed accordingly.
Starship Troopers is "nothing without the ultraviolence"? Seriously?

And you just can't report a showing of Avatar without taking a cheap shot at it, even on Christmas Eve. Bah, humbug!
And maybe at some point in the future it will actually MATTER whether or not Han shot first.

Doublec, Han shooting first DOES matter, since it shows what's in his character makeup. Changing it changes the character from a pirate that only cares about himself and his ship, to some guy just trying to get by in the galaxy. In storytelling you always want a character to change, evolve. You don't want them to stay stagnant. By changing that one detail, Lucas changed how that one character changed to care about something more than himself and his ship.

Ghost Dog:  Way of the Samurai is a great film.  Two questions to those who've seen it:

One, is there any signifcance to the cartoons other than that what happens in the cartoons tends to parallel the action in the movie?

Two, is it just me, or do the mobsters give off a vibe that the mob has fallen on hard times, in a run-down, going to seed kind of way?

What movie is that in the picture at the top?

Almostunbiased, that's Doctor Who and his new companion.

I read about the K-9 series, as I recall it's supposed to be the original K-9 mark 1sernt to Earth for some reason and, as Doublc said, redesigned himself.  It's a pity I won't be able to see it, it looks like something I'd be interested in seeing.

Best Doctor Who Christmas special in a long while. Swings between dark and the usual Christmas campy/sentimentalism.

Thanks Ferret, and DANG she is super hot.

 Lucas shot first.

If Han didn't shoot first, Greedo is the galaxy's worst bounty hunter.  I don't really care if Han shot first or not (but he did).

I imagine that the fight at the end of Chronicle was the city battle in Superman II.  That is how it should have been done.  I like both movies, though.

I don't hate Michael Bay, I just hate it when he (literally) pisses with our childhood memories.  (That is actually an accurate use of the word "literally", which most people figuratively butcher.)

Is Ardman's Pirates movie as good as all of the rest of their stuff?  Love Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run was great, but haven't caught this pirate movie yet.
