Doublec, Han shooting first DOES matter, since it shows what's in his character makeup. Changing it changes the character from a pirate that only cares about himself and his ship, to some guy just trying to get by in the galaxy. In storytelling you always want a character to change, evolve. You don't want them to stay stagnant. By changing that one detail, Lucas changed how that one character changed to care about something more than himself and his ship.

I've seen the first episode of the K-9 series. It's Australian-made but ostensibly set in London, and K-9 redesigns himself so he can fly. Proceed accordingly.
Starship Troopers is "nothing without the ultraviolence"? Seriously?
And you just can't report a showing of Avatar without taking a cheap shot at it, even on Christmas Eve. Bah, humbug!
And maybe at some point in the future it will actually MATTER whether or not Han shot first.
