There can be no doubt that Summit Entertainment is showing the confidence this week in their Twilight franchise. Production Weekly is reporting that Summit has officially revealed their principal photography schedule for the third installment, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, with the studio hoping to have it primarily shot before the second film even arrives in theaters.

Here's what PW put up on their Twitter:

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," is scheduled to begin production on August 17th and film thru October 31st at Vancouver Film Studios.

This has the film's production scheduled locked in before Summit's sequel hits theaters on November 20, 2009.

While the third film will likely return most of the ensemble cast, the only ones confirmed so far are Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Director David Slade (30 Days of Night) is helming the third film, based on a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg.

Plot Concept: In "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will hit theaters June 30, 2010.

Hanso is a huge twilight fan but doesn't want to admit it

This is smart.  Get the third filmed before the fad completely dies, which it will.  No one can pull the plug if it's already done.

I don't know if their speed indicates they're worried about the fad dying. Harry Potter is still going strong and will do so even though we all know how it ends.

This production schedule gives them a chance to (likely) have a good teaser trailer out in front of the second movie, or at least a "to be continued" sequence at the end of it...like happened with Back To The Future 2

The most important decision of her life? You mean what to major in right. I can't wait to skip this or at worst pay for another film if forced to see it, either way they are not getting my money

I think the important decision in her life should be:  Stop making these fucking movies and get a move on before she's stereotyped.

Dawson's creek for Vampires yes im glad im not a fan of teeny bopper vampire flicks.

I didn't see Twilight in the theaters, but railed against the movie from what I saw in the trailers. Well, my girlfriend made me sit through it with her, and after seeing it all I can say is...that movie really sucked...get it...sucked? I'll be here all week, folks. I kill myself, or rather I wanted to after watching that crapfest of a movie. I am so sick and tired of pussy-assed vampires. I don't like them moving about in daylight, but Dracula did in Stoker's seminal book so I can get over that. What I can't get over, and I blame Anne Rice for this, are vampires who are all Mr. Sensitive. Yes, vampires can be sensual and erotic creatures, but only as a means to an end...getting the blood from the buxom virgins! I liked Angel, but he needed to bitch slapped on more than one occasion. Pattinson's vampire needs to man up and comb his damn hair. And now we're getting some "Vampire Diaries" in the fall. As SgtTechCom so aptly put it...Dawson's Creek for vampires. We need a vampire movie with a real vampire, not some pantywaist bloodsucker.
