X-men Films has reported "two models have signed a deal with Marvel Entertainment to be in the X-MEN 3 (or a possible spin off of the film). The women are Ashley Hartman and Mercedes Scelba-Shorte.

Mercedes will play a mutant simply known as M. Ashley is portraying Emma Frost.

For those not in the know, M equals Monet St. Croix from the old Marvel Comic GENERATION X. She's a mutant with amazing strength, telepathy, and the ability to fly. And Emma Frost, aka The White Queen, is the attractive, yet deadly mutant who's currently a member of the X-Men team, but has had a past as a villainess. She was also once the head mentor of the Generation X team.

It's funny, because its like Ratner is trying to create Jim Lee or Campbell type art on camera, by signing all these hot models.
I love hot models like the next guy, but I hope there is more substance to the movie and not just F/X and eye candy.

Ashley looks a little too young to play Emma Frost.

It's interesting that I caught an old episode of America's Next Top Model that Mercedes was on and was wondering what had happened to her like 3 days ago...

It's looking like X3 is going to suck big time, much like Red Dragon did... still can't get over how that was to be the late 80's and in the home videoes at the house there were movies like Mrs Doubtfire...
Brett, Brett... when are you going to learn, you suck as a film director.

X3 cannot be any worse than that piece of crap X2

I thought Red Dragon was entertaining, although I didn't enjoy it as much as Manhunter. I do believe the strong characterizations set up by Singer in X1 & X2 might suffer a little, but I think Ratner's going to make a movie that's a thrill ride and a half! It wouldn't hurt my feeligs a bit if the movie was just a combination of actyion set pieces woven together with a thin plot. I didn't think X1 & X2 had enough action, so I'm giving Ratner the benefit of the doubt.

It does seem as if they're going the WB TV/"Fantastic Four" movie route, in making it about a bunch of pretty people...

I agree that Ashley is a little too young to portray Ms. Frost. But it makes me wonder if they are going the mini series route Marvel did with the character in her self titled "Emma Frost" series a few years ago? Oh I hope not!

I came to know the White Queen character as a hard nosed but deadly looking woman in her late 30's wearing a blonde page boy hair style, white cloak, white corseted teddy and thigh high boots who as a member of the Hellfire Club and counter to Jean Gray (before she joined the club and became Dark Phoenix). Then later one Frost went on to manage The Hellions before I left comics. That is how I envision her.

I hope they stay faithful to her image and age.

My thoughts are with you ninjawitch, but don't get your hopes up Hollywood likes to put there spin on things (which isn't always a bad thing).
I think with the past releases of comic-adapted-movies and the future ones we have to start putting them in their own genre and stop comparing them to other "action" flics or "sci-fi" flics because with enough crapy renditions and good ones we can say that spider-man and x-men are the top successful runs where daredevil and elektra are at the bottom.
I think Bryan Singer and Sam Raimi did to action as to what Carpenter and Wes Craven did to Horror by creating movies that stemed off of the norm and forced the movie fans to put them in their own genre.

NO!! NO!!! NO!!! First Singer quits (okay, good for Superman, bad for X-men), then we're saddled with Ratner, then we get Fraiser to play the Beast NOW we're stuck with an American Idol reject and America's Next Top Model loser. It looks like this is shaping up to be the "Batman & Robin" of the X-men franchise.
